Open Positions

  • The Clarke Laboratory within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University seeks a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in pursuing a future academic career in medicine or science. The ideal candidate will have a recently earned BA/BS with optional (but preferred) laboratory research experience.

    The candidate will perform laboratory management duties (keeping stocks, organizing reagents, etc.) and assist in basic science and translational research projects under the supervision of Dr. Clarke (Principal Investigator and Laboratory Director), Postdoctoral Research Fellows, and Ph.D. students. Key duties include preparing and performing laboratory experiments, the collection and accurate recording of procedures and results, data analysis, and assisting with manuscript preparation.

    Specific techniques that will be utilized in the laboratory include:

    • Immunofluorescence staining and microscopy.

    • Immunoblotting.

    • Real-time PCR.

    • Cell culture.

    • Lentiviral work.

    • Molecular biology including plasmid design, cloning, nucleic acid purification, and PCR.

    • Generation and interpretation of experimental results.

    • General laboratory maintenance, inventory, and organization.
